  1. I agree with assigning this to Vulnerable.

    My only involvement with Arabian Bustard is in Yemen, where my best assessment of the latest situation there is that it is Critically Endangered – in Yemen.

  2. I do agree with assessment, which assigning the species as Vulnerable. The national assessment of the species in Saudi Arabia CR. The last reported record was in 2017 from Farasan islands.
    There is a plan to establish a captive breeding program for future reintroduction program in protected areas along its historical range along Tihama,

  4. Preliminary proposal

    Based on available information, our preliminary proposal for the 2026 Red List would be to adopt the proposed classifications outlined in the initial forum discussion.

    There is now a period for further comments until the final deadline on 31 May 2026, after which the recommended categorisations will be put forward to IUCN.

    The final 2026 Red List categories will be published on the BirdLife and IUCN websites in November 2026, following further checking of information relevant to the assessments by both BirdLife and IUCN.
