Until more accurate distributional and ecological information is available, listing the species as VU seems reasonable. It is surprising that in spite of being a poorly-known threatened species, few efforts have been conducted to fill knowledge gaps on basic aspects of its biology. I wonder if it is because this is not a charismatic species.

The final categorisation for this species has not changed. Antioquia Bristle-tyrant is recommended to be listed as Vulnerable under Criteria A3+4c.
