This species has been recorded on the upper Uchiza valley on several sites, in 2014 and 2020 (e.g. https://ebird.org/checklist/S92563102, see ebird for other checklists). The area between the San martin/Amazonas records and the Huanuco ones, seems to be little disturbed, hence could be a continuous tract of forest holding the species. There haven’t been estimations of the population, but at least seems to be stable.
