The distribution as shown in the map for the Sulu archipelago is greatly exaggerated. There have never been any surveys of most of those islands, and most of the rest not since Mearns was there. According to Global forestwatch there has been significant forest cover loss since 2000 on some islands that still had forest eg Capual. On the other hand there seems to be a good population on Cagayancillo with many on Calusa. I think it is still data deficient in the Philippines in terms of breeding range.
