Redwing is common winter visitor, mainly in northern Iran and uncommon winter visitor in Zagros mountain. This bird is not hunted in Iran and is not threatened in Iran.
Italy receive migrant Redwings from a wide range of breeding areas from Fennoscandia to Russia, including Siberia. Analysis of harvest indexes both for hunting days and hunters for one Italian regions show stability from 2009/10 to 2022/23. Other harvest data from other regions show fluctuations from 2013/14 to 2019/20 but not decrease. Autumn temperatures influence arrivals of the species. Agree with down listing to LC, due to breeding data that seem confirmed by harvest ones in Italy.
